Recognition of Qualifications refers to a formal acknowledgment as defined and approved by the competent recognition authorities of the academic value of a foreign educational qualification.
In Korea, the competent recognition authorities are higher education institutions or other entities, and the competence to make decisions in recognition matters lies with higher education institutions or other entities.
KARIC provides adequate information on foreign higher education system to enable the competent recognition authorities to ascertain whether the quality of the qualifications issued by foreign institutions justifies the recognition.
Foreign degree holders who need to assess or compare their academic qualifications for purposes of admission may contact the competent recognition authorities (the company / university you are applying to). If you have any further enquiries, you may also contact a NIC (National Information Centre) of the country where the qualification was earned.
Korean degree holders who need to assess or compare their academic qualifications for purposes of admission may contact the NIC of the country where the qualification will be recognised, and request that to the relevant NIC to contact KARIC.
