❒ The Korea Academic Recognition Information Center (KARIC)—under the Korean University Accreditation Institute (KUAI, President Suk Yeol Lee), which is affiliated with the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE, Chairman O Bong Yang)—signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mongolian National Information Center for Academic Recognition (MON-NARIC) at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The MoU signing took place during the Second Session of the Intergovernmental Conference of the States Parties to the Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education.
❒ The Mongolian National Information Center for Academic Recognition (MON-NARIC), directed by Dashdorj Munkhbat, operates under the Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation (MNCEA), led by Dr. Amarsanaa Bor. The center is responsible for providing information on academic recognition and evaluation of degrees within Mongolia, as well as overseeing academic credential authentication.
❒ Attending the MoU signing ceremony were MON-NARIC staff members Bilguunsaikhan Tsogbadrakh, Enkhjin Sukhbaatar, and Bat-Erdene Erdenechuluun, while the Korean side was represented by Minah Park(Director, KARIC) and Researcher Minkyung Shin.
❒ Through this MoU, both institutions agreed to strengthen cooperation on the standards and procedures for academic recognition and the development of national qualification frameworks. They will actively promote mutual understanding and trust through information sharing, joint research, and personnel exchange. The MoU aims to establish a foundation for enhancing the linkage between the two countries’ academic recognition systems, improving the quality of higher education, and promoting international mobility—based on mutual trust, respect, and shared benefits.

Exchange of experience and information to improve recognition practices,

Exploring collaboration to enhance student mobility between the two countries,

Examining the comparability between Korean and Mongolian qualifications,

Exploring cooperative measures on the recognition of refugee qualifications and digital credentials,

Enhancing mutual understanding through joint publications related to academic recognition.
❒ KARIC is the official National Information Center designated by the Ministry of Education of Korea, responsible for disseminating information on Korea’s higher education system and qualification recognition both domestically and internationally. It operates under the Korean University Accreditation Institute (KUAI), affiliated with the KCUE, the council representing four-year universities in Korea. Going forward, KARIC plans to continue expanding its network and cooperation with major National Information Centres abroad to enhance the global credibility of Korean higher education, improve the international acceptance of Korean degrees, and attract more international students.
